Just when we thought that the NY Post had the clever pun game pon lock, in comes this remix compilation from Portland club Holocene entitled It's Importland To Me To Be One Step Further Than One Step Beyond. IMPORTLAND! These dudes are hired for headline duty immediately. Title zaniness aside, the disc is a real solid listen. Stumptown indie faves (who you might've read about) like the Blow and Y.A.C.H.T. get remixed with additional bleeps and thumps and Casio-tones courtesy of their friends and neighbors, and the whole thing captures the digi-DIY, northwestern bedroom beat spirit Holocene strives to cultivate. The comp drops on April 18th, but to tide you over until then, check out the just-released Mobius Beard LP from Copy. He's one of the remixers showcased on It's Importland..., and his solo material is no less jamming.
