Though Daft Punk's Human After All didn't initially do big things when it was released last year, the robo-duo currently seem to be surfing a second wave with their bananaticulars performance at Coachella, the continued dance club/strip club domination of Busta Rhymes' "Touch It" (which samples their "Technologic"), the Cannes Film Festival's inclusion of the dialogue-free road movie Electroma that they directed and starred in, and a constant stream of righteous remixes (see Erol Alkan's new "horrorhouse" take on "The Brainswasher"). Now comes word that they will release some ultra limited-edition merch in... Japan (big surprise!). Product includes Daft Punk Kubrick toys, Daft Punk action figures and 100 pairs of Daft Punk sneakers for A Bathing Ape. The kicks are pretty restrained considering the folks involved—we were hoping for a scrolling LCD display on the tongue that relayed messages of trans-cyber love —but they did get us thinking about similar cultural exchanges and sent us to the iTunes vault to dig up the Neptunes' remix of Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Stronger." For all those caught up in the hatrix/ And not tryin to practice love, we can/ Get away, get away, get away...
