Karen O & Blaqstarr @ TTL Party
Turntable Lab's brain genius booking of a Hollertronix reunion to celebrate the one year anniversary of their Los Angeles store made for a hella of a night at the Echoplex last Friday. Here's a brief highlight reel: the return of Bonecrusher's "Never Scared" in Bmore club form, re-edits of Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al," their defining "Rock The Casbah" and "Gossip Folks" blend, Baltimore's young hope Blaqstarr handling vocal duties for "Supastar" while Diplo was behind the decks, Karen O dancing on the side of the stage under a shawl...good friend times! There were, however, some snafus, but we're blaming the crowd for all of those. We know you thought you looked like you were "getting buck in the club" or whatever, but grabbing your featherweight chain and imitating a thizz face is closer to "OMG! I can't believe we got Toots & The Maytals for Spring Fling!" Anywaaaay, we still had fun, but our photos of that night suck. So if you were one of those million people on stage taking digital pictures, send those shits in and we'll put them on blast.
