WORK: East Village Radio Seeks DJs Who Aren’t Whiny Babies

April 22, 2009

Our buddies over at East Village Radio, where you can listen to our weekly radio show, The Let Out, every Friday from 6-8pm, have put out the call for someone to host a "REAL rock-and-roll radio show." Seriously, these dudes are not playing around. You should see the email. It's intense. Oh wait, you can see the email—it's after the jump. In short, they want someone who will play stuff like KISS, Roth-era Van Halen, Kansas, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, AC/DC, early Aerosmith, Led
Zeppelin, Hendrix, UFO, The Who, Deep Purple and Rainbow. And maybe like wear really tight bell bottoms and have "girlfriends" who roller skate on the sidewalk out front. NO POSERS. We like it when they send us shit like this because we know how weird and awesome this person will turn out to be. Read the unpaid job description after the jump and if you're interested, send a sample CD with one-hour of
music (submissions with DJ's introducing the music on the CD will
receive special consideration) along with your contact information to:

eastvillageradio.com is looking for a REAL rock-and-roll radio show.

eastvillageradio.com with a street level studio on 1st Avenue in the
heart of NYC's East Village is looking for a DJ to host and spin a 2-
hour weekly, classic, hard-rock radio show. The ideal candidate is
vastly knowledgeable about REAL rock-and-roll, has a voice for
radio, and is not afraid to use it. Think Eddie Trunk.... Bands
including KISS, DLR era Van Halen, Kansas, Black Sabbath, Iron
Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, AC/DC, early Aerosmith, Led
Zeppelin, Hendrix, UFO, The Who... I think you get it.

If you are a DJ that likes to pre-dominantly play obscure bands that
no-one cares about from this genre or another genre or you are the
type of DJ that likes to play music no-ones heard of to make you
feel cool you need not waste your time applying for this. This show
is designed to fill a very special void here at eastvillageradio.com.

If you got what it takes, please send a sample CD with one-hour of
music (submissions with DJ's introducing the music on the CD will
receive special consideration) along with your contact information to:

Good luck. Long Live Rock-and-Roll.
