White Rainbow, aka Portland's Adam Forkner, has played his music in a geodesic dome. He's sat on a floor and made drones on video and we've watched it. We've made good natured jokes about celestial energies and crystals while listening to his music. We've fallen asleep to it and done work with it playing in the background. It is unabashedly New Age, filled with waves of sustained sound and hand drums, and we just can't get enough. "Demon Sweat" is not from his upcoming album New Clouds (Kranky, Oct. 19th) but it could be: Throw it in between any track and it would fit seamlessly. To be honest, he shouldn't even bother separating songs into tracks—just record one 50-hour album and sell it as a single, constantly looping mp3. Incidentally, New Clouds will come out on double vinyl, and while that is awesome, we cannot think of a worse torture than having to actually get up to flip this record over.
