LA-via-Copenhagen DJ/producer Turbotito's new mix is a perfect little Friday morning mover-shaker, filtering some vast-sounding indie rock through a subtle bit of disco/rave-pulse with remixes by himself and others, including a Dead Man's Bones remix steeped in Rhodes funk and his hypnotic re-envisioning of We Are the World's "Claystones." He's got a deft touch, emphasizing textured rhythms and lush voices, straddling the line between dancefloor heavy and verging-depressive. Hence its title, perhaps, or are we being too literal?
