Nomi's real homebase as of late has been Jessica 6, a goth-disco trio with her Hercules and Love Affair touring band members Andrew Raposo and Morgan Wiley. The group has a very organic feel: though still synth heavy, their use of electronics is still very analog (literally, spiritually). Their keys in organs is more Phantom of the Opera than minimal techno. So for the other side of the coin, she's linked with German producer Rampa for something a bit more technical. Nomi's got a voice that could very well soundtrack any number of New York house tracks on the Party Girl soundtrack, but here she just moves that party over to Europe, using her same sultriness over something a little more robotic. Will be interesting to hear if she continues in this direction. Rampa is someone who is quite fond of vocal samples, little snippets of gabbing thrown in like rimshots, so it's cool to see him work with such a strong singer.
