As a staff that blogs constantly throughout the day, we at the FADER often find ourselves falling into beats. Covering the same artists over and over, because every time they release something we're feeling it makes sense for the one person—the expert—to write about it. Matthew Schnipper has made Glasser his domain, going so far as talking about some beads and stuff he bought that she released with some of her songs. We write all that to bring up a less insular point: Glasser can sing over anything and make it sound completely natural, even if you're jumping in without much knowledge of her past work. Call it knowing your lane, or call it slow growth. Whatever it is, this remix of "Tremel" by Astronomer is another inch forward. Beefing up the original, throwing in some blurpy lazer stabs, her voice still floating effortlessly over the top. Glasser is the kind of artist we wish existed when Timbaland entered his self-consciously weird phase and started producing for Bjork. She would have grounded him then. But maybe if that happened this wouldn't exist. Schnipper wouldn't get to buy craft projects. We wouldn't have Glasser's organic development or Astronomer living up to his name so hard that it's almost ridiculous.
