If the goal of this video was to show that Curren$y has come a long way since the olden days of 2008 when he rapped on Youtube-only videos while sitting in a La-Z-Boy, then it most definitely succeeded. But more importantly, this video feels important. Like Curren$y is making a statement that he's finally blasting off from the internet rap world in a trail of weed smoke and free associative verses about sitting in a rocking chair in Woodstock. It remains to be seen if it can finally happen for dude this time around, but he's definitely got enough dark charisma to hold his own for the moment.
