On a recent trip to Kigali, Rwanda in search of local music, producer Ian Brennan (recently of Kyp Malone's Rain Machine) happened upon the gents in The Good Ones and quickly proceeded to record the songs on their Dead Oceans debut Kigali Y' Izahabu. Sung in the predominant Kinyarwanda and tucked in by a couple acoustic guitars and the soft pat of someone's shoe, The Good Ones' three-man harmonies are about as slack and welcoming as any porch-recorded music you've heard. "Sara," the first song made available from their November-released album, is quintessential and incidentally the first song on the album as well. If we weren't fully aware of our office surroundings at all times, this might make us think the humid AC was actually a nice breeze. Go outside and enjoy this and check the album cover after the jump.
