Say what you will about bands with rock critics in them, they're usually better suited to wringing the most out of nostalgia trends than anybody else. Take Brooklyn trio Mr. Dream, for example. Their new single, "Learn The Language," sounds like they know their way around past Sub Pop and Touch & Go rosters, and they want you to know it. Compare that to the current trend of releasing a shitty-sounding demo and hoping someone writes "Ummm... Archers? Sebadoh?" and this relatively pristine blast of fuzz and stomp is just refreshing. Also, once they work themselves into a lather, that "heaven is just a zip code" refrain sounds anthemic enough to take its place alongside a couple decades' worth of bands' suppositions as to just what heaven is.
