Way back in early 2006, when you could still get excited about hidden Cam verses on a Sheist Bub mixtape you bought on Canal, and before either of us worked at The FADER, Julianne Shepherd and I would email back and forth from New York to LA about all kinds of stuff as both of us were freelancing and had almost limitless amounts of time to look at weblogs. One day, she sent me an email with the subject line, "Watch this now." It was a link to a YouTube, which I then clicked. It was for this video. I still have no idea what it was reference to, probably Bell Hooks, that was our thing then.
None of that will be of interest to most of you, but this might be. Today is Julianne's last day here, so you will will have to check Alternet to hear her voice day-to-day from now on. I'm pretty sure they won't let her post dubstep, but they will probably let her spread some proverbial wings and get loose on some topicals. It will be good.
She will be missed [insert super nice slo-mo video montage of her best outfits and listening session dance moves]. So long, Julie. Meet you at the barrr, it's going down (or falling down, whatever).
