Seems like not that long ago that we were holed up in our apartments jamming weird Flight 10-inches and being like WHO IS MAKING THIS MUSIC AND WHY IS IT SO MYSTERIOUS. Then we found out it was Steven Bevilaqua, a dude who lives in Mississippi and looks kinda like Bruce Springsteen and has one dangly earring, and, oh yeah, sounds like The Boss in this twisted way. Maybe it's the way his tracks are everyman anthems—small town anguish blown out into huge singalongs paired with layered swampy vocals, or maybe it's just that dude has a knack for being super serious about his music without coming off as a cornball. Basically, he's got jams for days and he could have downplayed that—languishing in semi-obscurity instead of just going for it. Here's the video for "Turns to Blood," which is firmly in the GOING FOR IT camp.
