During last week's holiday break we went ice skating for the first time since we were Girl Scouts. The rink was dead icy silent so we cozied up to the kiddy-grizzly hockey dude in the reflective "staff" vest and got him to pump his iPod (Arcade Fire and Yeasayer, actually). It was cool that he was so down but album rock was not really what we had in mind, and we tried to explain to our one cool aunt how we never have really felt as good as we did while weaving blade circles to Robyn's "Show Me Love" on the ice circa 1997. Either way, we ran the rink in a no hassle, mature and comfy kind of way. Which is how Robyn, more than a decade and multiple personalities out from Robyn Is Here, is running the international dance floor in this VHS-banded karaoke tour video for "Dancehall Queen" a track from Body Talk Pt. 1 and also Body Talk 3 that was co-envisioned by Diplo, Red Foxx and Pomp & Clout. Are the "woah woah woah's" reminding anyone else of the same in the moody breakdown of the Police's "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic"? If you're looking for a slightly more forward, aggro kind of dancehall leadership, grab the Dillon Francis Remix featuring Name Brand.
