We're happy to note that Japanese brands have been taking cues from our favorite style era, the messy, thrift store side of the 1980s shown best in Jim Jarmusch movies like Down By Law and Mystery Train. We've been paying attention while Tokyo-based J. Sabatino mines Jarmusch-star John Lurie's ill-fitting glamor, and now Uniqlo has joined the cast with a line of t-shirts that features imagery from some of Jarmusch's best films. We're psyched, of course, because as everyone knows, once a look is a hit in Japan it makes its way stateside, and we can't wait to see baby Luries all over town hulking around in silk shirts and oversized houndstooth.
