Bit of a strange video here, for Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto standout "Paradise." But accept it on its own terms or you'll deprive your arms from goosebumps at the final triumphant drop. The cutesy premise is Chris Martin is an elephant. He escapes from the zoo and makes a break for South Africa, where he reunites with the band and they play a sold out stadium show. Part of enjoying that is suspending snobbishness, and agreeing that Chris Martin in an elephant suit riding a unicycle is funny, and that writing lyrics on cardboard and holding it up to the camera is fine music video-making. How many elephant trunk sight gags are there? A lot. Mylo Xyloto comes out October 25th on Capitol.
