"The Marvelous Dream" is our first taste of Damon Albarn’s opera, Dr. Dee. The production is inspired by Queen Elizabeth I's medical advisor, John Dee and, as you can hear from this preview, it's opera in the vein of The Who's Quadrophenia, not a classic like Madame Butterfly. Dr. Dee will be released on May 8th by Virgin.
