In 1999, Rah Digga released Dirty Harriet, one of the best hip hop records in a competitive year. Thirteen years later, a few younger artists have been dropping her name (and MC Lyte’s), but not with the respect typically given to artists with their track records. As a result, on her latest track, "The Nigga in Me," Rah Digga calls out both Fat Trel and Tyler, The Creator for their off-color remarks. In an accompanying statement, she says, "I wish em all the best, they just need to understand who is off limits. MC Lyte is off limits. Rah Digga is off limits. Respect those who kept hip hop raw so that we could still have a culture or get a first hand lesson in a lyrical ass whoopin."
