The dudes of Brooklyn's Wild Yaks spend a lot of time at the beach, which is awesome, but their music isn't exactly sweet and breezy. Each member sings and plays loud, and though they're all nice, it's possible they wouldn't apologize after accidentally knocking over a sandcastle. Last week, they joined us for a round at Grand Street Bakery. After drummer Martin Cartagena found the shortest and summeriest shorts in the shop, we went outside and got a taste of frontman Rob Bryn's enigmatic belting. These guys are a treat, and if you weren't already, they'll probably make you smile. Watch them do "Comes Close To You" above then "Tears of The Night" and "Million Years Old" below.
