Both Tim Hecker and Daniel Lopatin's Oneohtrix Point Never have a history of creating difficult music with such emotional resonance that it reaches people that might not normally be into it. "Uptown Psychedelia" is from Instrumental Tourist, an album the two created as part of the Software label's SSTUDIOS series, which is basically all about electronic artists collaborating. The track works in familiar territory for both artists, drawing on late-night angst and sleeplessness through burbling electronics and plaintive drone. Instrumental Tourist will be out November 20th.
