Every year, the NY Art Book Fair gets exponentially hyped, drawing legions of book nerds (myself included) through the doors of PS1 to spend more on printed matter in one day than they have all year and lose half their weight in sweat because, as always, it is really hot in there. Like last year, we trawled the exhibition halls and chatted up vendors, asking them to show us their favorite books and ephemera. I got out buying just one lovely book by photographer Nigel Shafran (designed and published by Roma), titled Ruth on the Phone. Lucky for you, it's still available online.
