Vivienne Westwood to Sell Shirts in Support of WikiLeaks

October 30, 2012

After visiting controversial WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he's currently under diplomatic asylum, punk designer Vivienne Westwood has designed a T-shirt (Westwood is pictured wearing one above) for which all proceeds will benefit the embattled whistle blower. Shirts will be on sale on her web site starting Saturday, and the profits will help fund the many legal troubles, including questions of sexual assault, which have plagued Assange since his organization discovered and released thousands of top secret documents concerning Guantanamo Bay and the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Westwood is known for political campaigning herself, often using her runways as a medium to discuss AIDS and climate change.
