For the first chapter of SSTUDIOS (Software Studio Series), Software's collaborative recording series, Dan Lopatin and Tim Hecker mimicked the tropes of jazz improvisation while working within their respective, synthetic mediums, matching glitch to drone to find a new voice that is stilted at points, unified at others. For this video stream of "Intrusions," the duo seems to have swiped some Google car simulation footage that, coupled with music, provides a fitting soundtrack for the terror and liberation of obliterating human agency. Instrumental Tourist is out Nov 20th on Software.
