Even if you're not in the mood for low-key, cutely blue songs like "Woke Up Feeling Sad," give it a spin for the artist's name alone. R.L. Kelly is Rachel Levy, the little-cat-voiced LA artist who's also half of Kiss Kiss Fantastic and Teen Porn (she sure knows how to name 'em). Levy's cozy solo debut—as R.L. Kelly, at least—was mastered by Foxes in Fiction and has been hyped up enough by past collaborators Ricky Eat Acid and Coma Cinema to merit mentioning them here. From the clever "You're Not the Only Monster from Hell," with its closing, under-the-breath You suck, to the straining Alex G cover to the acoustic title track "Life's a Bummer"—really every one of these songs is a delight.
