Normally, these brief EPs are little more than promotional pitstops on the way to other projects, and in some sense that is probably what this is. Starlito promises a sequel to Step Brothers, his excellent collaboration with Don Trip (who appears on "Ken Griffey Jr."), next month as well as another tape after that. But the beauty of Starlito's music is that even a five-song EP of his warrants attention, because he is almost completely unable to make songs that sound tossed-off or lazy. Here, he ranges from the introspective, world-weary croak of "Aberration" to the great posse cut "Pay it Forward," featuring previously unknown rappers Fish, BiLy Blast and Petty.
