This fashion week, reality TV and Kendall Jenner took a spin on the runway at Marc Jacobs, #normcore became a national obsession, Jeremy Scott made McDonald's fashionable for his first collection for Moschino, and Karl Lagerfeld turned Chanel's runway into a bodega. Mainstream culture seeping into fashion doesn't shock us at all anymore: we're not even surprised to see that Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton has given corn rows the high fashion treatment. Actually, you could say fashion month has come full circle since Jenner's older sister Kim helped bring back the hairstyle over a year ago. Cornrows had a moment back in the oughties when Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Ciara, and even Justin Timberlake got in on the trend (never forget). McQueen actually first tried their hand at the 'do last July for their fall campaign, starring Crystal Castles' Alice Glass. But we're going to credit Bey for this one, since she's still been rocking cornrows from time to time.
