FADER PREMIERE
Even though DJ Harvey is most famous for traveling the globe spinning house and disco for the biggest clubs in existence, you shouldn't be surprised that he's got a rock side project called Wildest Dreams because a) Harvey actually got his musical start in a punk band called Ersatz b) he's been known to mix some guitar-ier stuff into his sets and c) DJ Harvey is also famous for doing whatever the heck he wants. Harvey wrote and performed an entire new self-titled album for Wildest Dreams, out July 29, with help from Dan Hastie, Ethan Phillips and Sergio Ross a couple years ago outside of Los Angeles, and hopes the music captures what it feels like to have an acid trip amidst the landscapes of Southern California—the first track, "Last Ride," jams the druggy, party vibe of the Sunshine State so well that he could mix it pretty readily into one of his Ibiza sets and it wouldn't skip a beat. Stream below, then watch a teaser clip for the album and check out Harvey's latest tour dates.
