FADER PREMIERE
In the late 2000s, NYC duo The Golden Filter spun a seductive web from the distant echoes of disco and synth-pop at a snail's pace. Following their 2011 soundtrack album, Syndromes, they return with a three volume strong collection on London's The Vinyl Factory titled Unselected Works. As you might imagine, it features a wealth of tracks they couldn't squeeze onto their previous releases but couldn't bear to leave in the dark. And thank goodness, for they should indeed find ears. Take "Heady Filthy," for example: an elegant stretch of a song that feels like those first couple of minutes in the morning when you're caught between the dream and material worlds. It's all shapes and sensations, blurry but undeniably pleasurable. Unselected Works is out now (and available here).
