"Work those synths, homegirl."
Every Saturday throughout New York's long hot summer, MoMA PS1 presents Warm Up, the museum's annual courtyard party that celebrates music's experimental spirit. Each week, The FADER will be speaking to one of the billed artists to find out who they're psyched about playing with. This week, Matrixxman recommends DJ/director/producer Aurora Halal.
Matrixxman: Truth be told it is difficult to choose among the artists I am playing with since they are all beasts in their own right. That being said, I am stoked to share the stage with Aurora Halal. She makes this really moody shit that lies somewhere between deep, brooding house and lush ass dub techno. Very hypnotic, drum machine laden vibes. Tracks like 'Hazy G' and 'Phase 2' have the same pervading dark atmosphere with an expansive feel to them. Work those synths homegirl, I see you.
