Beneath layers of wily dreads, mannequin heads, fuck-drunk 808s and damp video girls, Awful Records produces some straight-ahead trunk rap that balances out the crew's more eccentric edges. Rapper Pyramid Quince cracked open "Vodka On The Weekend" with the succinct mission statement I'm just grinding dog, can't rush this shit, it's just timing dog, and on his Fila Coodie EP with Dexter Dukarus, the grind continues: Dexter serves woozy, digital thumpers and Quince spits sleepy bars that do just enough to keep the ride rolling.
