Holly Herndon Roams An Empty Planet In The Video For “Morning Sun”

After releasing Platform last month, her first full-length since 2012, Holly Herndon returned today with a video for “Morning Sun.” The clip, co-directed by John Merizalde and Mat Dryhurst, follows a space-suit clad Herndon as she wanders the empty surface of a mountainous desert planet. The tinny beat gurgles harmlessly around cascades of differently-pitched vocals, but the visual embodiment of that chorale is more sinister: a thick, menacing sandstorm.
