Lose Feeling With The Weeknd’s Giddy New Single
“Can’t Feel My Face,” the R&B singer’s collaboration with Max Martin, has officially arrived.
Max Martin has 20 #1 hits, but most of his success has come with pop stars: Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift and others. Now he's looking to get #21 with an R&B singer—the Martin/Weeknd collaboration that leaked at the end of May arrived officially today as a part of Apple's Apple Music announcement. The Weeknd has been moving steadily into pop's mainstream since he first gained attention for a mysterious trilogy of mixtapes several years ago. "Can't Feel My Face" is his most blatant pop move to date, a disco banger at a time when retro R&B is consistently climbing into the top 40 (see Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" or Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk").
