Miley Cyrus Raised $69,000 For AIDS Research By Auctioning Her Caitlyn Jenner Artwork

At amfAR’s sixth Inspiration Gala, where she was a guest of honor.

June 18, 2015

Miley Cyrus has been sharing photos of Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair cover buried in glitter and sequins on her Instagram for a week or so, and the reason has now become clear. Cyrus created three shiny bespoke versions of the cover which were auctioned off at amfAR's Inspiration Gala on Tuesday night (June 16th)—see a snap of the auction below. The sale raised $69,000 for the charity, which conducts AIDS research and education on HIV.

Miley's been up to all kinds of great things lately: she started her own charity for homeless and LGBT young people, the Happy Hippie Foundation (check out the Backyard Sessions she filmed with Laura Jane Grace and Ariana Grande to launch it), and partnered with Instagram on a project called #Instapride to raise visibility of transgender and gender expansive people. The latest person to feature on #Instapride was Tyler, who is agender and acted as Miley's date to amFAR; take a peek inside the adorable night they had below.
