Prince has never been comfortable with digital technology, but imagine if he came up in the SoundCloud era. He’s always been insanely prolific—last year he released two albums on the same day. His legendary vaults probably contain dozens of songs that could have been hits; listening to bootlegs of unreleased Prince tracks is like the world’s easiest hunt for treasure. Today, he could just shoot these loosies out on the internet.
He did that this morning with a new track called “HARDROCKLOVER,” a tune full of explosive guitar and sexual innuendo. At one particularly funny moment, Prince sings, Ain’t no rapper trying to be a singer, come to make a move/Sade and Babyface, R&B ain’t got no place. Listen below.
