Dr. Dre's much delayed album Detox may still be "in development," but the rap mogul has another music project in the works: the soundtrack for F. Gary Gray's N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. The director described the new music as "insane" in an interview with MTV News, and promised many guests, including Dre's protégées Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. According to Gray, “[Dre] went deep and you can hear some of his influences, with jazz and soul and a little bit of funk." Take note, The Oscars.
Gray also spoke on the film itself, and promised an untold story would be on screen. "[The audience] wants to know 'What can we learn beyond what we can Google?' And the only guys that have that information are the surviving members of the group."
