Alxndr London is (of course) a Londoner, and like many of the city's emerging soul voices, has a knack for blending the old with the new. But his disco-leaning, sad-eyed funk has a jagged edge all of its own: on his latest track "DATE X," prickly synths run headlong into bubbly basslines, while his twisted thunderstorm imagery and lines like beautiful chaos, nothing even matters add a skewed tension to a song that is, at its core, a classic sweet love song that pleas let me take you on a date, let's discover space together. "'DATE X' paints a story of pain, lust and stolen moments," London told The FADER. "It's a groovy danceable number in a world where hope must exist as the perfect segue between now and forever."
