Gunplay On Ghostwriters: Writing Your Own Raps “Doesn’t Really Matter Anymore”
The MMG rapper says, “This is what it is, you have to embrace it, accept it.”
Though he stands strong with his home team, MMG rapper Gunplay spoke bluntly during a sit-down with The FADER last week about the reality of "ghostwriting" in hip-hop. "People don't write their raps," he said, shrugging off the idea that penning your own raps "really matters" in the year 2015. "People are not real gangsters. People talk about bodies they never caught, jail time they never did. Talk about cars they never drove, bitches they never fucked." But, he added, "my shit is authentic, even though that's dinosaur nowadays."
