Watch Shamir’s Tiny Desk Concert
The singer played a short acoustic set for NPR.
Shamir's debut album was full of disco and new-wave, but one of the first songs that earned him attention was a quiet, bare-bones cover of the Canadian country singer Lindi Ortega's "Lived And Died Alone." When Shamir stopped by NPR recently for a Tiny Desk Concert, he also worked in this mode, performing stripped-down versions of "Darker," "In For The Kill," and "Demon," all of which appeared on his debut full-length, Ratchet.
