Download Macklemore And Ryan Lewis’ New Song “Growing Up” Now
The track with Ed Sheeran is the first new music from the duo since their 2012 debut album The Heist
For the first time since 2012's The Heist, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have new music to share. The song, which is called "Growing Up," features a guest appearance by Ed Sheeran and is available for streaming and download on GrowingUpSong.com. Macklemore sings to his newborn daughter Sloane on the record, I just want to be a good dad, will I be, I have no idea.
In a letter to their fans on his website, Macklemore writes, "When you try to escape yourself, life has an interesting way of creating situations that force you to come back. To look at who you are. This is why “Growing up” felt like the right song to re-emerge with. It’s where I’ve been the last year, through all the ups and downs. We didn’t want to do a big campaign or anything over the top with this. We just wanted to put out good music, directly to the people that have been here since the beginning. Thank you for your patience. Hope you enjoy."
This song is not the first single for Macklemore's album which is expected to drop some time later this year. In a recent Complex cover story, Macklemore revealed that he's had a year of extreme ups and downs—a struggle with adjusting to his new level of fame led to new difficulties with substance abuse problems, which were rectified the birth of his daughter two months ago.
