After sharing "Alive" this morning, Sia chatted with Zane Lowe about the new single and the album she's putting together that's full of "pop rejects"—songs she wrote for other performers that they turned down. According so Sia, "Alive" came out of a session with Adele that yielded "two or three songs." "I thought this one was such a smash," she continued. "But [Adele] just wasn't feeling it."
Apparently Sia then redid the vocal in order to shop the song to other artists. "Then everyone in my camp was like, this is maybe your best vocal ever," she told Lowe. She described singing the song as akin to "jumping out a building."
Sia also noted that she planned to write with FKA Twigs, who she believes is a "really interesting artist." "We're gonna get some crazy choruses!" Sia declared. "[Twigs] needs to take over the world. There is something very unique and amazing about her."
