Rihanna Reportedly Reaches Sponsorship Deal With Samsung
For a cool “$25 Million.”
According to The New York Post, Rihanna allegedly cut an impressive deal with Samsung: the company will chip in $25 million to sponsor the singer’s ANTI album and the following tour. The Post theorizes that in return for Samsung’s support, the company “wants to use Rihanna to help promote its Galaxy line of products and wants exclusive use of Rihanna-related video content to release via its Milk Music radio service.”
As The Post points out, Rihanna’s is signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation. The rapper’s last album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, came out with help from Samsung, which drew a withering critique from The New York Times—“If Jay-Z wants to know about my phone calls and e-mail accounts, why doesn’t he join the National Security Agency?—and questions from Killer Mike.
The release date for Rihanna's forthcoming album, ANTI, remains unclear but it's rumored to drop in the next few weeks. While you wait, revisit Rihanna’s FADER cover story.
