Adele Says She Did Not Turn Down A Collaboration Offer From Beyoncé
“I would never be so disrespectful.”
25 arrives Friday, so Adele is in full promotional mode: tonight she plays a concert at Radio City Music Hall which will be aired on NBC in December. and tomorrow she airs an hour-long interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio. During those 60 minutes, according to Lowe, the pair will talk "about everything.” He adds, “It’s my favorite interview that I’ve ever done.”
A snippet of the interview surfaced today in which Adele talks about other modern artists that she admires. “I love Lana Del Rey,” Adele says enthusiastically. “She stirs my soul. I love Alabama Shakes, and I think Brittany—the way I first felt when I heard Etta James is the way I feel when I heard [Brittany]. She’s so amazing. She’s fucking amazing. She’s an exquisite singer. I love Drake. I love Tobias, I love CHVRCHES, I love the Maccabees, I love Florence’s record very much. Obviously Queen Bey to the day I die.”
Adele has previously discussed her love of Lana in her recent Rolling Stone cover story, where she revealed that the two singers have the same tattoo.
Speaking of Queen Bey, Adele wants to set the record straight. “There’s a rumor going around that I turned Beyoncé down, which I would never be so disrespectful as to do. I would never disrespect her like that.” (Lowe hadn’t heard the rumor.)
Tune into Beats 1 tomorrow at Noon EST to hear the rest of the conversation. Here's everything we know so far about 25.
