Christine And The Queens Hosts Radio Show To Respond To Paris Attacks
“This is how we choose to answer.”
Héloïse Letissier—who performs as Christine And The Queens—is currently live streaming a radio show as a response to the recent attacks in Paris. The singer announced the program last week on Instagram, inviting musicians to share the music they love on the airwaves (either by stopping by the studio or sending in a playlist).
Letissier explained the reasoning behind the event in a Twitter post. "We do believe in coming together, still," she wrote. "Over some songs we love. Just to take some time to properly acknowledge that we do not want to be torn apart—that [it is] now our responsibility to try not to be torn apart. We're not sure we have any words for what happened. But we'll meet, we'll share. This is how we choose to answer."
Not long ago, Christine was on the show's video feed dancing to the Erykah Badu remix of "Hotline Bling." More recently, French rappers freestyled over beats like Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s "Get Money" and Drake's "0 To 100." Watch the stream below.
