To shoot the latest video from her debut album A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, U.K. hip-hop artist Little Simz traveled to Cape Town, South Africa. "Gratitude" is a tune that slides between uplifting and melancholy, featuring English electronic band The Hics, and its video captures a similar mixture of hope and fear. Directed by Jeremy Cole, the clip splices skating and dancing (by social entrepreneurs Jarrel Mathebula and Rayne Moses) with footage by activist and artist Imraan Christian. Christian's footage shows recent #FeesMustFall protests that took place in response to a rise in fees at South African universities, as well as clashes between police and protestors and the use of tear gas.
