PJ Harvey is set to release a new album—her ninth—in 2016. The singer-songwriter recorded it in full at a purpose-built studio at London's Somerset House, during a month-long residency at the beginning of this year. The whole process was open for the public to drop by and view, under the name "Recording In Progress."
The new record is Harvey's first since her Mercury Prize-winning 2011 album Let England Shake, and according to a press release, documents "a unique artistic journey, which took her to Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington, D.C." Watch a short film clip teasing a new song, and featuring Harvey standing among ruins, below.
