"All The Way Down" was a highlight of Kelela's Hallucinogen EP: a collaboration with DJ Dahi that found the singer threading her way between a slow-funk bass line and swirling cascades of keys. Today she shared the Kahn remix of the tune, which filters the original through the sort of stutter-step break-beats popularized by Timbaland in the late '90s. Gaika also contributes a charismatic verse.
The song will appear on the Hallucinogen remix EP, due out at the end of the week. According to the singer's SoundCloud page, the project is "set for release on Christmas Day and curated by Kelela as a holiday surprise for all the fans who have made Hallucinogen one of the most acclaimed releases of 2015. These remixes see her galvanizing the global avant-garde to reimagine the EP as a continent-spanning sonic carnival."
