In an interview with Rolling Stone last year, Ty Dolla $ign explained his interest in electronic music. "If you go to the festivals, their concerts are popping," he noted. "Why wouldn't I want to get with that shit? Plus, I love it anyway."
His latest foray into the genre is "4Real," a tune with the producer Destructo and iLoveMakonnen. The track oscillates between slower, hip hop-indebted passages and thumping garage-like sections. Zane Lowe premiered the song today on Beats 1 Radio.
"The thing is I got a lot of tunes, I just need more collabs on the vocals," Destructo told Lowe in an interview. "I got something I'm doing with Pusha T, I got one with Problem, just trying to finish up my EP... There's nothing better with being in the studio with like, Too Short, and making a song. It's insane. They've been doing electronic and hip hop forever. I'm just doing my little take on it."
