According to The New York Times, Sony says the company's hands are tied when it comes to the ongoing legal battle between Dr. Luke and Kesha. "Sony has made it possible for Kesha to record without any connection, involvement or interaction with Luke whatsoever," said Scott A. Edelman, an attorney for the company. "But Sony is not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha."
"Sony is doing everything it can to support the artist in these circumstances," the lawyer added, "but is legally unable to terminate the contract to which it is not a party." The Times reports that Kesha's contract with Luke is "through a separate deal with his production company, Kasz Money Inc."
