DJ Khaled Explains The Keys To Success On The Ellen DeGeneres Show
Khaled continues his victory lap.
Yesterday Ellen DeGeneres made an announcement on Instagram. "Major 🔑 Alert," she wrote. "The King of Snapchat stops by my show tomorrow for his first television interview ever."
Sure enough, the self-proclaimed "hip-hop Quincy Jones" brought his unique brand of self-help rhetoric to daytime TV today. Many of DJ Khaled's signature phrases encourage resistance to a vague "they," so Ellen pushed her guest to clarify his terms. "Please, Ellen, stay away from 'they,'" Khaled said. "'They' is the person that told you you would never have The Ellen Show... 'they' are the people that don't believe in you."
"When I was growing up," Khaled continued, "they never told me to drink a lot of water. So I drink a gallon a day: I think that's a major key to success. Eating egg whites is a major key to success: it's called being healthy. They don't want me to enjoy it, so I make sure I enjoy it so amazingly."
The producer also explained his relentless optimism, and Ellen gave him a special chain. Watch above.
