Andy Stott Shares New Video, “Butterflies”

Andy Stott's 2014 release Faith In Strangers merged ambient, techno, and heavy hip-hop into a gorgeous electronic album like no other that year. Now, the Manchester artist follows it up with Too Many Voices, out April 22 on the great Modern Love label, and you can watch the video for his new track “Butterflies” above.

Absent are one of Stott's trademarks: regal and crunchy beats like what you'd hear in your head if you were chewing marble. Instead he pivots to something he does equally well: light stepping drums against magic hour synths and airy vocals. The video, directed by Michael England, stars Rafael Chinx Martin as a dancer in and around Times Square, reacting to his environment with his movement.
